Air Quality Monitoring at Shannon Estuary, Co. Limerick

The air quality index for Shannon is calculated on an hourly basis under the Rural West AQIH Region. The Air Quality Map  shows you if air quality is good, fair, poor or very poor in your region.

The Shannon site is located on raised ground on a farm near Askeaton in Co.Limerick and is downwind of the major sulphur dioxide sources in the Shannon estuary.

Monitoring is done by a continuous monitor for sulphur dioxide and results can be viewed at the link below.
