EPA prosecutes Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited

On 22 November 2013 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited at Fermoy District Court.  The Company pleaded guilty to:

• Causing or permitting an emission of environmental significance from storm water emission point reference SWD/CR-1 to the River Gradoge.

• Failing to test and demonstrate the integrity and water tightness of all underground pipes and their resistance to penetration by water or other materials carried or stored therein within the period of three years ending on 5 November 2012 and failing to report such testing to the Agency.

Judge Sheridan convicted the Company and imposed a fine of €4,000 on each charge.  Agency costs of €5,590 were also awarded.
