EPA prosecutes Irish Water Kilmore Quay and Environs

  
On the 25th September 2017, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Irish Water, Kilmore Quay and Environs at the Four Courts. 

Irish Water pleaded guilty to:

• Between 1st January 2016 and 3rd November 2016(both dates inclusive), failing to complete the improvements as set out in Schedule C: Specified Improvement Programme of the Waste Water Discharge Licence D0232-01.

• Between 20th January 2016 and 1st December 2016(both dates inclusive), in that specified discharges from the waste water works exceeded the emission limit values set out in Schedule A: Discharges and Discharge Monitoring of the Waste Water Discharge Licence D0232-01.


Judge Brennan fined Irish Water €3000 on charge one and €1000 on charge two. Agency costs of €4271 were also awarded.
