EPA prosecutes Irish Water (Glenamaddy)

On 29th January 2018, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Irish Water at The Four Courts for its Glenamaddy Town Agglomeration.

Irish Water pleaded guilty to breaching its Waste Water Discharge Licence Register Number D0379-01.

Within the period 1 January 2017 to 7 September 2017, it failed to ensure that the existing discharges from the agglomeration, directly to groundwater, ceased by 31 December 2016.
On hearing details of the offence Judge Brennan imposed fines of €1,000 and Agency costs were awarded.
