This conference, jointly organised by the Irish Centre for European Law and the Environmental Protection Agency, will consider the challenges of implementing and enforcing EU environmental legislation at the national level. The conference will begin with a session on the challenges of transposing EU directives, before turning to consider a case study – the Industrial Emissions Directive. The third session will examine enforcement by regulators and prosecuting authorities and the final session will discuss the judicial role in implementation and enforcement of EU environmental law. Speakers will discuss recent trends and developments as well as consider the most recent case law of the EU and national courts.
