Professor Ottmar Edenhofer, Co-Chair, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III, will present a lecture on solutions to the challenges of climate change on Monday 6th October in The Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
This lecture on "Climate Change Now - Emissions, Limits and Possibilities" will outline current understanding of greenhouse gas emissions trends and the drivers of these. It will also present solutions including transformation of key sectors such as energy.
This is the first of two lectures planned for this Autumn and continues the popular series of climate change lectures which aims to provide scientific insights on climate change and to outline options to respond to this challenge.
Professor Edenhofer is Co- Chair IPCC Working Group III, Mitigation of Climate Change. He is also Deputy Director and Chief Economist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). He is a professor of the Economics of Climate Change at the Technical University Berlin. His research is primarily on the theme of Sustainable Solutions at PIK, which focuses on the Economics of Atmospheric Greenhouse Gas Stabilisation.
