Incident at Shell E&P Ireland Gas Terminal

The EPA has been notified of a flaring event at the Shell E&P Ireland gas terminal in Bellanaboy, Co. Mayo.

 

The flaring started on the morning on the 21st September 2017 as a result of issues with the quality of gas exported from the terminal. The flaring is expected to continue for a further 12 to 24 hours and is likely to result in increased noise levels and visual impact from the gas terminal site.

 

EPA inspectors are attending the site.
