RPII announces new Chief Executive - Apr 30 2003, 9:55 AM
The Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Ann McGarry as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr McGarry will take up her position on 1st May, on the retirement of the Institute's Chief Executive, Dr Tom O'Flaherty, who has held the position since the Institute was established in 1992.

RPII Publishes Environmental Monitoring Report - May 14 2002, 10:01 AM
Radioactivity levels in Irish produced milk, milk products, baby foods, beef, lamb, poultry and vegetables remain very low and for the majority of samples, below detection limits, according to the report published today by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland, Environmental Radioactivity Surveillance Programme 1999 - 2000. All of the drinking waters tested were found to comply with legal requirements and WHO guidelines for water quality from a radiological perspective.

Radon gas in 7% of Irish houses above recommended action levels - Jul 03 2002, 11:28 AM
According to research published today by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII), approximately 91,000 Irish houses, or 7% of the national housing stock, are predicted to have levels of radon gas above the Government's Reference Level for radon in houses.
