European Funding

The EPA is closely involved in programmes such as FP7 and maintains contact and liaison with the EU level activities and other relevant international activities. This engagement helps to inform the development and ongoing implementation of the national programmes.

EU Framework Programme 7

The EPA is the National Contact Point (NCP) for the Environment (including Climate Change) thematic area of the EU Framework Programme 7 (FP7). The EPA provides support to potential Irish participants to successfully access FP7 funding.

COST

Run by the ESF (European Science Foundation), COST – European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research - is an intergovernmental framework for the coordination of nationally-funded research at a European level.

COST brings together researchers and experts in different countries working on specific topics. COST does not fund research itself, but supports networking activities such as meetings, conferences, short term scientific exchanges and outreach activities. Currently more than 200 scientific networks (Actions) are supported.
