Building Research Capacity

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also provides an excellent opportunity for young researchers to work in major projects with established scientists.

Under its Environmental Research, Technological Development and Innovation (ERTDI) Programme 2000-2006 , the EPA has directly supported a total of 117 young researchers through its doctoral scholarship scheme and 37 through its Masters scholarship scheme. 58 post-doctoral level positions have also been funded, through the research fellowship scheme to provide career progression and additional experience for young researchers working in a range of areas.

In addition, the Fulbright-EPA award offers the opportunity to join an internationally recognised programme of top quality researchers from across the world.
