Masters Scholarships Scheme

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded 37 Masters Scholarships as part of its Masters Scholarships Scheme. The EPA invites regularly for proposals for Masters scholarships. This scheme aims to develop capability across all aspects of environmental technologies and proposals are invited from environmental science, engineering, design, and other relevant disciplines. The specific objectives of the scheme are to:

  • Encourage training and professional development in environmental technologies;
  • Promote and support high quality, novel and innovative research in environmental technologies.

The scheme is open to all full-time and contract academic researchers employed by third level colleges in Ireland who will act as project supervisors. Applications must be made by the academic staff who will be in charge of the project.

Where possible, applicants should seek formal partnerships with companies or organisations to facilitate practical trialling and testing of technologies / systems developed. Partner organisations should indicate their involvement in the form of a letter of support detailing the inputs /facilities to be provided. In the case of over-subscription for this call, preference may be given to projects with a clear technology transfer aim as evidenced by industry linkage or some similar tool.
