The movement of waste is regulated and controlled by the Waste Management Act 1996, as amended, and related regulations. The Environmental Protection Agency does not regulate the movement of waste.
For movements of waste point-to-point within Ireland, a waste collection permit is required. Contact the National Waste Collection Permit Office to apply for a waste collection permit.
For exports of waste to destinations outside the Republic of Ireland, a transfrontier shipment notification is required. Contact the National TFS Office at Dublin City Council if you wish to export or import waste.
