NIP for Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems 2013

An Interim Review of the period 01 July to 28 February 2014

The EPA in a review of the implementation of the National Inspection Plan for Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems 2013 (the Plan) found that operation and maintenance issues were the most common reasons for a treatment system failing.  In addition, about a third of the failures related to either clean rainwater getting into the treatment system or unlicensed discharges from the treatment systems to surface water.
