The above index is for overall Air Quality in Zone C and not just at this station. The index is calculated based on the latest available measurements of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, PM10 and sulphur dioxide in Zone C.
The PM10 monitor is located on a busy roundabout on the outskirts of Galway City. It is operated by the Public Analyst Laboratory Galway. Monitoring began on the 1st July 2006.
The measurement method used for PM10 is not automatic therefore the results are not available immediately. The most recent available results can be viewed through the links below. Benzo (a) Pyrene is also measured at this site.
