The above index is for overall Air Quality in Zone D and not just at this station. The index is calculated based on the latest available measurements of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, PM10 and sulphur dioxide in Zone D.
PM10, ozone and nitrogen oxides are measured at this site. The monitors are located in the grounds of the EPA offices on the outskirts of Castlebar. The ozone monitor was installed at this site on the 26th March 2009. The nitrogen oxides monitor was installed at this site on the 7th July 2009.
The measurement method used for PM10 is not automatic therefore the results are not available immediately. The most recent available results can be viewed through the links below.
