The above index is for overall Air Quality in Zone A and not just at this station. The index is calculated based on the latest available measurements of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, PM10 and sulphur dioxide in Zone A.
The PM2.5 monitor is located in the yard of the Fire Brigade training centre in the North-Eastern suburb of Marino. It is operated by Dublin City Council.
The measurement method used for PM2.5 is not automatic therefore the results are not available immediately. The most recent available results can be viewed through the links below.
An air quality assessment for all required parameters was carried out at Marino in 2000/2001. During the assessment monitoring was done by a mobile unit containing continuous monitors for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and benzene. Continuous samples were also taken for particulates (PM10) and lead.
Results were collected from 05/12/2000 to 09/04/2001 and compared with the Assessment Thresholds in the Air Quality Regulations to determine the long term monitoring necessary.
