Benzene and Ozone Precursor Levels at Rathmines, Dublin 6

Benzene is monitored continuously at the site using a Syntec Spectra G.C. 955. This is in-situ Gas Chromatography. The ambient air is sampled and is pre-concentrated before analysis on the G.C.

The latest available results for benzene and ozone precursor compounds are:

Benzene

Average Concentration: 1.74 ug m-3
Averaging Period:  01/03/11 - 31/05/11

This is below the upper assessment threshold of 2.0 ug m-3.
