The above index is for overall Air Quality in Zone D and not just at this station. The index is calculated based on the latest available measurements of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, PM10 and sulphur dioxide in Zone D.
The monitor is situated at Kiltrough, a rural area about 3 miles south of Drogheda town centre. A cement factory and motorway are located 1-2 miles to the west of the site. Measurements at the site were discontinued on July 27th 2006. It was replaced with the Drogheda North monitoring station.
