An important milestone in the implementation of the Water Framework Directive was the documenting of the characteristics of the river basin districts. Additionally this document reviews the impact of human activity on the status of all waters, identifies those waterbodies at risk of failing to meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive by 2015 and provides an economic analysis of water use.
