In order to assist Ireland's obligations under the Landfill Directive, the EPA reviewed all operational landfill licences in 2009. New conditions were inserted in the licences in relation to limits on the acceptance of BMW and these came into effect from the 1st July 2010.
The landfill operator is required to report to the EPA on a quarterly basis the quantity of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and BMW accepted at the landfill. Compliance with the BMW limits in the landfill licence will be assessed on an annual basis.
The EPA has developed a dedicated website to facilitate and streamline reporting to the Agency of BMW data by landfill operators.

This site is only accessible by means of a Username and Password unique to each landfill. The username and password were supplied by the EPA in a letter and by e-mail to all relevant facilities in September 2010 and should be retained carefully for future use. View details of the user manual.
Any queries in relation to the use of the BMW reporting website should be sent to bmwreport@epa.ie.
