Certification of Personnel Handling Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases (F-gases) and Companies employing such persons.
Training and company certification are a requirement of European and Irish law to ensure that ODS and F-gases are not emitted during installation maintenance and servicing of equipment containing those gases.
In Ireland, the minimum training qualifications, that must be held by personnel working on ODS and F-gas systems have been defined as follows
City and Guilds Level 2 Award in F-gas and ODS Regulations (2079)
or
FETAC Level 5 Specific Purpose Certificate Handling F-gas Refrigerants (5S0108)
Fire Industry Association Competence Certificate Course Class 1
FETAC Level 5 Specific Purpose Certificate Handling F-gas Fire Extinguishants (5S0110)
The Irish company certification body is F-gas Registration Ltd. (FGR). However a valid company certificate issued by a certification body in another Member State of the European Union must be mutually recognised in Ireland. Similarly, any company certificate issued by FGR will be recognised in all other Member States.
Check the F-gas Registration Ltd. (FGR) website, the company certification body in Ireland.
