EPA prosecutes Rilta Environmental Limited

On 6 October 2009 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Rilta Environmental Limited at Court No. 49, Dolphin House, East Essex Street, Dublin 2.  The Company pleaded guilty to processing aqueous, hydrocarbon and sludge waste at the Hydrocarbon Waste Treatment Centre in a manner other than provided for in the Licence, without the prior agreement of the Environmental Protection Agency.

On hearing details of the offences, Judge Coughlan imposed a fine of €1,000 and awarded EPA costs of €3,536 together with legal costs.
