EPA prosecutes a Poultry Farmer

On 11 December 2009 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted a Poultry Farmer.  He pleaded guilty to: operating without an IPPC Licence by carrying on the activity of rearing poultry in installations where the capacity exceeds 40,000 places as referred to in the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (Established Activities) Order 2006 (S.I. No. 279/2006).

On hearing details of the offence, Judge Patwell imposed a fine of  €1,000 and awarded the sum of €2,500 to be paid towards EPA costs and expenses.
