Throughout the year, we run a number of events to promote and inform our stakeholders about Societal Challenge 5 

FREE WORKSHOP - Horizon 2020: Opportunities for Environment Research in 2018 and Beyond

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) for Northern Ireland and InterTrade Ireland in association with the Irish Horizon 2020 Contact Point Network will be holding a cross border workshop on European funding opportunities under Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 (Environment) in the AFBI Hillsborough site on Thursday 12th October 2017.

This one day event is free to attend and will consist of:

The workshop is aimed at a range of sectors including: research bodies, local and central government, NGOs, not for profit organisations, business / industry and, in particular, the SME sector.

Networking is an essential element for developing successful bids for EU funding. This event will not only give participants the opportunity to meet potential project partners, but it will give them the chance to engage with organisations that can provide you with valuable support to help turn your idea into a successful EU project.

Please note that registration is limited to 70 places and will be allocated on a first come basis. The event will commence at 9.30am with registration and close at 3.00pm.

Irish launch event for the final Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018 – 2020

The Irish launch event for the final Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018 – 2020 will take place in University College Dublin on the 18th October 2017.  Follow this link to view/download the agenda for this event.

With a budget in the region of €30 billion, it is the largest funding opportunity in the programme to date.

There will be a keynote address from a European Commission speaker, a panel discussion on optimizing Ireland’s participation, a networking lunch and a set of parallel sessions.

These sessions will be run by the National Contact Points, introducing the new work programmes with an emphasis on the novelty factors.
