Project Abstract
The ADFLEX project helps manage the increasing electricity demand and use of renewable energy. It focuses on real-time monitoring to ensure efficient power system operations. ADFLEX creates a plan and testing framework to support local energy-saving measures, making them
easier and cheaper to implement. A pilot project in Ringsend Sustainable Energy Community integrates smart devices like heat pumps, electric vehicles (EVs), and solar panels in homes and mixed-use buildings. These devices work together with a system that collects real-time data, helping energy managers make smart decisions about balancing electricity use and renewable energy. ADFLEX toolkit builds a virtual model of the buildings and the energy network to optimize energy use and reduce peak demand. Community involvement is key of the project, empowering local Sustainable Energy Communities with knowledge, smart pricing, and user-friendly tools for replication. This engagement encourages active participation in the energy system, allowing communities to benefit from energy efficiency. By leveraging advanced technologies and promoting sustainable practices, ADFLEX helps communities manage their energy use effectively. This project supports broader goals of the EU and National Climate Plan for a sustainable future.
