This guidance is related primarily to the notification of environmental incidents to the EPA. Its aim is to provide guidance to licensees on communicating the necessary information to those dealing with incidents, to ensure that they can respond promptly and effectively, and relay the appropriate level of communication to stakeholders.

Anyone who makes a valid objection to the granting of a licence from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can request an oral hearing. The EPA has absolute discretion to hold an oral hearing and may decide to hold an oral hearing regardless of whether or not a request has been made.
