Project Abstract
Public participation in environmental decision-making is an essential part of sustainable development and this report based on the research conducted attempts to give a clear picture of the extent to which Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration 1992 as transposed in the Aarhus Convention 1998 have been incorporated into environmental governance in Ireland with a view to enabling informed debate and effective targeted capacity-building measures to be initiated in order to enable fulfilment of the National Development Plan and international commitments.
