Project Abstract
Estimating the level of Irish consumption-based emissions is useful, but without a comparison, it is hard to draw conclusions concerning whether the level of consumption-based emissions is high compared to other countries. In this project, we propose to use the GTAP database to estimate consumption-based emissions for several other EU countries as a comparison. Applying the framework developed in Project 4.1, we will apply the same methods and data to several other EU countries to be able to make a robust comparison. This will help inform us concerning whether our level and pattern (across goods) of consumption-based emissions differ compared to other EU countries.
