Project Abstract

This project could lead to the widespread adoption of reuse practices by State Agencies. While it is not possible to establish the scale of bulky items handled by State agencies, it is estimated that the project could divert approx 3,000 tonnes based on diverting 20% of the reusable fraction of bulky waste delivered to CAS/RCs. This is equivalent to saving approx 720 tonnes CO2-e. In addition, the project would see the State demonstrate its commitment to reuse (with wider impacts on the sector) and would support reuse organisations by providing a source of items for reuse.
