Project Abstract

The objective of the study is to provide a clear plain-language guide to commercialisation for researchers. The sub-components of that objective are: 1.Provision of an overview of current commercialisation of environmental research in Ireland and a comparison with how this has been achieved overseas; 2.An indication of the priority areas of opportunity for commercialisation; 3.Provision of a clear guide to the mechanisms and likely associated costs for the various means of IPR protection and 4.Provision of a clear guide to the support mechanisms available both financial and advisory in bringing research findings to market. This will include a listing of the range of supports and qualifying criteria as applied by different providers. These latter aspects are to be presented in words supported by appropriate decision tree flow diagrams.
