Project Abstract

Expected Benefits: Reduction in hazardous sludge 30 tons. Elimination of occasional requirement to dump entire 55m3 flux tank. Reduction and possible elimination of Hydrogen Peroxide, Ammonia and Zinc Chloride. Elimination of Rinse Water disposal -250m3 The proposed flux treatment process will generate Iron Oxide. Galco will investigate the potential to reuse this in their pickling baths. Relevance for other business: Direct relevance-Metal Finishing & Treatment Companies General Principle - All companies producing hazardous waste.Results will be promoted within Galco group, through the Galvanisers Association, Galco's newsletter & website and at EPA seminars.
