Project Abstract

Currently Ireland has one of the highest per capita greenhouse gas emission levels in the EU with the largest increase being experienced in the transport sector. Goods transportation within a Supply Chain (SC) is a major contributor. The level of goods transportation in a supply chain is a function of its design and operation. Significant growth in overall transport volume has occurred over the past decade in Ireland and this growth is expected to continue. With this in mind this project proposes a study to document an analysis of current supply chain practice in the electronics sector and the sectors awareness of sustainable SCs.
