Project Abstract

The aim of this project will be to investigate how artificial coastal structures can be modified to influence the composition of seaweed communities established on them, and how this process is affected by local environmental pressures and global climate change. The outcomes of this study are expected to have significant implications with regards to local biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services. Furthermore, any results obtained could potentially be used to inform conservation strategies in various other environmental contexts, and would therefore be of interest at a regional and even global scale
