Project Abstract
Resource efficiency is a high priority both at a national and international level. NetMap proposes to identify potential reuse/recycling options for fishing nets/marine waste, combat marine litter and carry out tests on potential reuses in construction products. This creates training and job opportunities across Ireland in both commercial and social enterprises. The results of the project will be promoted through an end of project report which will be made publicly available. The availability of waste fishing nets will be made available through the SourceIT software and the information will be disseminated through the SMILE and Circular Ocean platforms.
