Project Abstract

Climate change impacts and adaptation is one of four thematic research areas within the Climate Change Research Programme (CCRP). The research specialist will be required to take a lead in the coordination and management of research projects in this area as well as contribute to the development of future research in this area. The person appointed to the position will be required to develop structures and systems for communication of information on climate impacts and on adaptation planning options, based on research findings and outputs. The aim will be to support integration of climate change considerations into sectoral planning. The role will involve strengthening of links with research being funded and carried out by other bodies such Met Eireann, the Marine Institute, COFORD, the Heritage Council and National Parks and Wildlife Service as well as international research programmes in this area.
