Project Abstract

This proposal will compare proposed metrics of hydromorphological status (LHS, lakeMImAS, RAT) with measures of lake structure and function using ecological classification tools and assessment of catchment-lake connectivity using stable isotopes and CNP ratios in phytobenthos, benthic macroinvertebrates and open-water zooplankton. The work will further understanding of the links between hydromorphology and ecology, and develop the understanding of how the concepts of hydromorphology can be applied to the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive.
