Project Abstract
SOCIAL: This project will improve the competitiveness of the plant thus protecting jobs. Reduction in resource consumption during manufacture and reduce associated CO2 emissions.2. ECONOMIC: Savings in chemicals for cleaning, saving landfill and effluent treatment costs, Energy and carbon dioxide savings achieved by heat recovery and substitution of fuel. Cost savings could exceed 200,000 per year.3. Environmental: Reduced waste and energy consumption, Evaluation of feasibility of heat recovery from dryers and substitute some of the heating load. Dissemination of the project and the experience of Shannonside can be shared with other food producers.
