Air Quality Monitoring
Air pollution can affect the health and well-being of sensitive population groups and eco-systems.
The EPA has overall responsibility for the co-ordination of ambient air quality monitoring in Ireland in accordance with EU Directives.
Monitoring Stations are operated by the Agency and by Local Authorities.
In this section the locations of monitoring stations in the national network are mapped. Air quality results are obtained by clicking on the station location or name. For the stations currently in operation, the latest monitoring results are plotted on graphs. Alternatively for other stations where mobile monitoring units have been placed for a fixed period, summary results are given.
Summary information is also given here on the individual air quality parameters, on how they can affect human health and on the relevant EU standards(limit values) and on their typical levels in Ireland.
