The Environmental Protection Agency manages the national ambient air quality network.

The Air Quality Index for Health  is calculated every hour and tells you if air quality is good, fair, poor or very poor in your region. The Balbriggan site was located close to a residential area at an Office of Public Works site to the north of the town. Monitoring began on 21st March 2012 and finished on 17th June 2014.

Levels of PM10, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and benzene were measured.  Results are available via the links below.
