Project Abstract

I will specialise in building bespoke ecosystem service models that capture ecosystem service flows in Irish case studies. In particular, I will examine recreation, visitation, and aesthetic preference services using geospatial information and crowd-sourced photographs. This will involve a combination of satellite imagery, photographic content analysis, and statistics. This is important to understand how people interact with nature and what this means for future land-use planning, conservation, and tourism. The protocol is designed to reflect the specific context of Ireland but results will be relevant at international scales.
