This document is a good practice guidance note on how to practically incorporate climate change into Plans/Programmes/Policies/Strategies (PPPS), falling under the remit of the SEA Directive. It is aimed at plan-making authorities and SEA practitioners who, in implementing the requirements of the SEA Directive, need to consider that PPPS may be directly or indirectly affected by climate change, or may affect climate change directly or indirectly.

This document should also be useful to anyone involved in preparing or reviewing SEAs. It presents information on the causes and consequences of climate change; how they can be described, evaluated and incorporated into the SEA; and where appropriate information can be found.

Errata Note: The current printed publication contains a typographical error in Table 1.2 and Table 3.1, in relation to mean annual surface air temperature. The relevant corrections have already been made to the online publication.

Hard copies of the publication will, from the 27th April 2015, include an Errata Note, describing the updated aspects of the tables. Future reprints of the publication will include the corrected text in both tables.
