EPA Prosecutes Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Limited

On the 12th April 2019, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Limited, Dublin Road, Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon at Ballaghaderreen District Court, County Roscommon.
Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Limited pleaded guilty to breaches of conditions of its Industrial Emissions Licence (P0802-02) by:

  • Failing to comply with Condition 5.1 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that they failed to ensure that specified emissions from the installation did not exceed the emission limit values set out in Schedule B: Emission Limits of the said Licence, on the 7th day of March 2018.
  • Failing to comply with Condition 9.3.1 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that they failed during an incident to isolate the source of the emission or to identify and execute measures to minimise the emissions/malfunction and the effects thereof, within the period commencing on the 3rd day of March 2018 and ending on the 7th day of March 2018.

Judge Faughnan convicted Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Limited on all charges and imposed a fine of €1,000 on charge 1 and €500 on charge 2.   Agency costs were also awarded.
