The role of the Office of Environmental Enforcement (OEE) is to enforce compliance with the licences, permits and authorisations issued by the EPA.

We carry out our work in line with our Compliance and Enforcement Policy.  This ensures that our procedures are fair, consistent and transparent It also ensures that we target our attention to sites and activities that pose higher risk of environmental harm, and that we make the ‘polluter pay

The OEE enforces a wide variety of environmental legislation. The information here gives a picture of how we approach our work. It refers mainly to industrial and waste management licences, but it broadly describes how we approach our other activities.
