EPA prosecutes Arrow Group Limited (P0812-01)

Hearing Date: May 17, 2021

On the 17th of May 2021, at Naas District Court, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Arrow Group Limited (P0812-01) for breaching conditions of their Industrial Emissions Licence.

The company pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.2 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that emissions of odours from the activities carried on at the site resulted in an impairment of, or an interference with amenities of the environment beyond the installation boundary, on the 5th of April 2019.
  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.2 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that emissions of odours from the activities carried on at the site resulted in an impairment of, or an interference with amenities of the environment beyond the installation boundary, on the 15th of May 2019.
  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.2 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that emissions of odours from the activities carried on at the site resulted in an impairment of, or an interference with amenities of the environment beyond the installation boundary, on the 29th of October 2019.
  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.1 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that specified emissions exceeded the night-time Emission Limit Value (ELV) for Noise as set out in Schedule B.4 of the said licence, on the 21st of May 2019.
  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.1 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that specified emissions exceeded the night-time Emission Limit Value (ELV) for Noise as set out in Schedule B.4 of the said licence, on the 6th of June 2019.
  • Failure to comply with Condition 5.1 of the Industrial Emissions Licence, in that specified emissions exceeded the night-time Emission Limit Value (ELV) for Noise as set out in Schedule B.4 of the said licence, on the 13th September 2019.

On hearing the evidence Judge Zaidan convicted Arrow Group Limited on all charges and imposed a fine of €4,000.00 on each of the charges (€24,000.00 in total). Agency costs were also awarded.
