EPA Prosecutes Dromagoland Farms Limited (P0657-01)

On 4th September 2026 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Dromagoland Farms Limited P0657-01, for breaches at their facility in Virginia, Co. Cavan at Cavan District Court.

Dromagoland Farms Limitedd pleaded guilty to two charges as follows:

• That the facility on or about the 4th day of March 2025, failed to comply with the provisions of Condition 7.3 of the Industrial Emissions Licence Register Number P0657-01 as amended in that there was unauthorised discharge of polluting matter to water, namely at the unauthorised discharge point identified as Unauthorised Point No.2.
• That the facility on or about the 5th day of March 2025, failed to comply with the provisions of Condition 7.3 of the Industrial Emissions Licence Register Number P0657-01 as amended in that there was unauthorised discharge of polluting matter to water, namely at the unauthorised discharge point identified as Land Drain No.1.

Judge Finnegan convicted Dromagoland Farms Limited on both charges and imposed a fine of €1,000 on each charge.  Agency costs were agreed.
