Research Call 2018

The EPA Research 2018 Calls are now open.

The call, which is managed by the EPA and funded by the Government through the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, is designed to support the implementation of environmental policies in Ireland, including: the National Climate Mitigation Plan, National Climate Adaption Framework, Circular Economy Action Plans and Strategies, Biodiversity National Action Plan and National Peatlands Strategy, as well as the forthcoming Clean Air Strategy, UN Sustainable Development Goals Implementation Plan and National River Basin Management Plan.

With up to €9.5 million available for new research projects, the Research Calls are divided into three strands: Water; Climate and Air, and Environmental Sustainability.

The indicative timeframe is as follows:

Call opening 23rd April 2018
Deadline for technical queries 18th June 2018 (5.00 pm)
Application submission deadline 27th June 2018 (5.00 pm)
Organisational approval deadline 6th July 2018 (5.00 pm)
Evaluation process July/September 2018
Negotiation  September/October 2018
Grant award November 2018
