National Support Network

An enhanced national support structure has been put in place for FP7. A dedicated website for FP7 in Ireland (FP7 Ireland website) was launched by Enterprise Ireland in February 2008. The team includes:

  • National Contact Points (NCPs) who specialise in individual areas of FP7 and can offer dedicated expert advice and support throughout the life of an FP7 project;
  • National Delegates (NDs) who represent Ireland on the relevant EU programme committees and identify strategic opportunities for Irish involvement in the programme.
  • National Experts

Information & Awareness Raising:

We are regularly updating our FP7 distribution mailing list. If you want to be included, please send your contact details to fp7@epa.ie.

Training is also provided regularly by Enterprise Ireland.

Support & Advice:

We provide help to prospective applicants to access funding under this theme. Depending on the experience of the research group, we offer the following services:

If you need advice or support, please contact the National Contact Point.

The EPA has set up a Working Group for the FP7-Environment including Climate Change theme. The working group is composed of one member of each University, a representative of the Institutes of Technologies and representatives from SMEs. (Read more about the Working Group)

To help us to gain insight of the Irish Participation under the FP7 calls, please let us know if you are involved in a FP7 proposal.

Partner Search:

If you are unfamiliar with EU funding schemes you may wish to join an already formed research consortium/group initially rather than attempt to coordinate a EU project yourself right away. The best way to find partners is through already established networks and contacts in Europe. You can establish new contacts through peer introductions and by attending conferences, meetings or by joining relevant European Organisations.

Several databases are available to help facilitate partner searching.

Financial Support:

Researchers based in Irish companies, higher education institutions and public research bodies who want to participate in FP7 can avail of financial supports with Enterprise Ireland:

  • Support for companies participating in FP7
  • Proposal preparation support for academic coordinators
  • Travel Support for Researchers

Contact in Brussels:

The Irish Liaison Office for EU RTD in Brussels is the European component of the Irish National Support Network.

  • Contact the Irish Liaison Office in Brussels to find out about the services it offers to Irish participants in FP7.
