EPA prosecutes Rosderra Farms Limited

On 26 July 2011 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Rosderra Farms Limited at Portlaoise District Court.  The Company contested the charge set out below:

Failure to submit to the Agency and to maintain the following on site:

1. A summary table of customer farmers receiving slurry/manure.
2. A map showing the location of farms where slurry/manure may be recovered.
3. A declaration by a suitably qualified person that lands for recovery of slurry/manure had been inspected and were suitable for land spreading.
4. A Nutrient Management Plan.

Judge Staines heard the case, convicted the company and imposed a fine of €1,000.  She also awarded the Agency’s costs of €8,255.50.
