EPA prosecutes Ashbourne Meats Roscrea

On 27 July 2006 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Ashbourne Meats Roscrea at Roscrea District Court.  The Company pleaded guilty to the inappropriate storage of sludge and paunch on a field at Currantanty, Shinrone, Co. Offaly.

On hearing details of the offence from an EPA inspector, Judge Mary Martin imposed a fine of €1,500 and the EPA’s costs of €5,400 were also awarded.
