EPA prosecutes Alert Packaging Limited

On 13 February 2007 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Alert Packaging Limited at Bray District Court.  The Company pleaded guilty to:

• Permitting emissions to the atmosphere and to sewer which exceeded the emission limit values set out in the licence. 

• Failing to notify the Agency as soon as practicable after the occurrence of an emission to the atmosphere.

On hearing details of the offences from an EPA inspector, Judge Hamill imposed fines totalling €3,000 and EPA costs of €10,000 were also awarded.
